Chris Schumerth's Chicago Black Hawks Extended Profile
Profile photo
Who am I?
I am a teacher, writer, and sports fan. I am a hoosier who lives in the Sunshine State. And I am a Christ follower. Those are a few identities and allegiances I subscribe to. Other than that, how else do I really introduce myself? I'm sure none of them are completely adequate descriptions.
Brief description
I am a huge sports fan, mainly of Notre Dame athletics and the Chicago Cubs. But I have recently moved to Jacksonville and am really excited about following the Jaguars.

Job Description
I try to manage chaos while teaching reading, writing, and social studies.
I would like to ...
and to see the Chicago Cubs win a World Series, to close the Achievement Gap in education (with some help of course), to live abroad at some point, to one day perhaps publish a book or two
Career Goals
My commitment with TFA is two years, but I see myself teaching in the Duval Public Schools for a while beyond. Eventually, I would like to teach in a few other contexts, perhaps abroad, at the high school level, or even back in a boarding school setting, like, but not the same one, that I went to. I also see writing as a big part of my future, whether free lance online writing, or perhaps writing books of some sort eventually. My degree is in political science, but I don't really have aspirations in that direction, unless it was to jump on the bandwagon of a close friend who did go in that direction and in whom I really believed.
